He is survived by: his parents, Zerne Haning and Elizabeth Haning; his wife Caryn Spencer; his sister Sarah Garbarino (Gary); his nieces and nephews, Sonya Ables Emily Garbarino (Michael), Shelby Terry, Ben, Josh Garbarino and Daniel Weishaar; his aunts, Emily Hewetson, Ruth Morgan and Dorothy Simanek; his cousins, Christina Hewetson, Blome (Bill), David Hewetson, Jennifer Morgan, Andy Morgan (Christy), Ross, Mark Gudnason, Michael Simanek Elizabeth Thompson (Trisha) and Dorothy Simanek; and his sisters-in-law, Sheryl Honeycutt and Kim Terry.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home (6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752).
