He was predeceased by: his son Joseph Mata; his parents, Guadalupe Mata and Maria Dolores Munoz; and the mother of his children Elvira Jurado. He is survived by: his children, Maria Dolores Mata, Joann Mata, Joe Mata Jr. Ruben Mata, Robert Mata, Richard Mata, Amanda Mata and Israel Mata; and his brother Thomas Davila. He is also survived by 22 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren,; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
