He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Schwartz and Ethel Schwartz. He is survived by: his parents-in-law, Milton and Paulene Eichelbaum; his daughter Michele Schwartz (Jesse Gordon); his grandchildren, Elliott and Mirah Gordon; his wife Sandy E Schwartz; his siblings, Alan (Joyce Schwartz), Linda (Andy Schwartz-Wright) and Melvin; and his sister-in-law Marlene Eichelbaum. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews, their children, and many cousins.

Leonard asked for donations in his memory to be made to the ACLU to further their work to protect our freedom of speech and democracy.
