It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Luther Ray Parker of Austin, Texas, born in Dallas, Texas, who passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hallie Byrd Strickland Parker and Luther West Parker; and his sisters, Olga Jean Thompson (LeRoy) and Billie Dawn Smart (Glen). He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann; his children, Robin Birdwell (Bob) and Steve (Marti); his grandchildren, Adam Birdwell (Cristina), Blake Birdwell (Taylor), Whitney Parker Hatchel (Wes), Jordan Parker and Jacob Parker (Alyson); his great grandchildren, Easton Parker Birdwell, Austin Jack Birdwell, Harper Elizabeth Hatchel and Nola Ray Hatchel; his caregivers, Shirley Spears of The Key, Alice Cobb and Naldy Arias of Brookdale; Jan Marie, Ashley, Rebecca and Kristin.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the University Presbyterian Church (2203 San Antonio St, Austin, TX 78705).
