He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Henderson Johnston and Myrl Joy Stephens; and his brother Richard Newell Johnston. He is survived by: his sons, Michael Steven Johnston (Stephanie) of Austin and David Neil Johnston (Lisa) of Lockhart; his granddaughters, Marilena Goldenbaum, Katharina Goldenbaum and Johanna Johnston of Germany; and his sisters, Myrlene Jack of Elgin, TX and Bonnie Gay Baile of Georgetown, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
