She is survived by: her husband Joachim K. Schmid (Grad); her son Marc J Schmid (Blair Walker M. D.); her grandchildren, Wolfgang Walker Schmid, Gordon Cooley Schmid, Kathrine and Astrid; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Taylor and Holden; her nephew John W Gilchrist; her cousins, Denna, Kay, David and Gordon Jr.; her niece Stacey Hutcherson (Ray Hutcherson); and also Wolfgang.
She joined her beloved daughter Stephanie Margot Schmid on May 8, 2022, after a prolonged battle with Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia.
