It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Neal Ray Chambliss (Austin, Texas), born in Gilmer, Texas, who passed away on March 25, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Jack; his wife Gwen Gee; his daughters, Jessica Shelton and Jackie Chambliss; his son-in-law Clay Shelton (Lily Shelton); and his sister Kay Scott. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family believes Neal would rather have donations made to HAAM, an organization dedicated to "keeping music in Austin alive and well", or to the Big Bend Conservancy.
