He is survived by: his wife Berta; his children, Dr. Patricia Hernandez of Austin, Jose Antonio Hernandez (Evette) of Austin and Laura Hernandez Graham of Austin; and his grandchildren, Walter Joseph Graham (Ashley Nicole Hooten), Joie Andrea Hernandez, Arie Raquel Hernandez and Esai Erik Hernandez.
