He is survived by: his children, David Scott Nickel, Brian Bandy Nickel (Bubba) and Carrie Ellen Nickel McDonald; his wife Patricia Abels; his stepchildren, Shannon Nickel (family: Jack, Quincy, Sam, Kaitlyn, Crew, Maddie, Wyatt, Rhett, Lauren, Sutton), Bubba, Aime Nickel (family: Luke, Taylor, Banks, Trip, Raeney), Ryan McDonald and Amy; and his family, Scott, Ava, Mia, Kelly and Rob Bates (family: Ian, Caroline, Todd, Lolla, Luis Abels).
