With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Wright (Austin, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 4, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Clay Wright, Sr. and Frances Wright; and his siblings, Edward Clay Wright, Jr., Ernest Wright and Jeraldine Reedy.
He is survived by: his wife Debra Mackey; his daughters, Daniyell Thompson (Mitchell) and Patrice Wright; and his stepdaughters, Sujuane Smith (Brandon), Vallie King and Christine Glapion (Urbain).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home (6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752).
