She was predeceased by: her husband Juan M. Valdez; her parents, Angelo Montemayor, Sr. and Catalina Suniga Montemayor; her siblings, Janie Montemayor, Emma Montemayor, Minnie Lopez, Andres Montemayor, Lupe Montemayor and Cruz Montemayor; and her children, Robert Valdez (Patsy), Jerry Lee Valdez (Sandra), Gloria "Glory" Valdez, Alicia Mendoza (Encarnacion "Snail"), Alfred "Freddy" Valdez (Trisha), John Edward Valdez (Christina) and Rachel Vargas (Ronnie).
She is survived by: her siblings, Susie Garajales, Angelo Montemayor, Jr. and Alex Montemayor. She is also survived by grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Mission Funeral Home Heritage Chapel (1615 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78702). A rosary will be held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Mission Funeral Home - East Side (1615 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78702). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cristo Rey Catholic Church (2208 E 2nd St, Austin, TX 78702). A committal service will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Assumption Cemetery (3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704).
