He is survived by: his children, Kevin Anthony Shaw of Newport News, Virginia., Karen Michelle Sheppard of Missouri City, Texas, Eric Michael Shaw of Frisco, Texas and John Elvin Shaw of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren, Desiree Michelle Shaw, Jenee Angelle Johnson, Nicolette Brion Shaw, Faith Cecelia Shaw, Michael Edwin Cage-Shaw, Kameron Thomas Sheppard, Austin Michael Shaw, Kourtland Ryan Sheppard and Konnor Alexander Sheppard; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jenel Robinson of Austin, Texas, Keisha Tyler of Austin, Texas, Kevin Tyler of Austin, Texas and Anthony Tyler of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by cousins, extended family, church family, fraternity brothers, former students, dear friends.
His lifelong commitment to music, education, and artistic excellence culminated in his induction into the Texas Music Museum, honoring his lasting contributions to music and the cultural heritage of Texas.
