He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Easley Sr. and Margaret Middleton; and his wife Muriel Laverne Easley. He is survived by: his daughters, Vanice Y. Hayes (Patrick) and Tara B. Easley; and his siblings, Joseph Easley Jr. (Gwen), Martha Easley and Elijah "Jackie" Straw. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
