It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jo Ann Godwin of Avery, Texas, who passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Jo may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Jo touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anderson Peek and Marie Taylor Peek; and her brothers, Frank, Robert, Blaine and Barry Peek.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Godwin of Avery; her children, Charles Alan Godwin of Nacogdoches, Texas and Gena Moore (Andy) of River Oaks, Texas; her siblings, Janice Martinez (Tony) of Houston, Texas, Carl Peek (Carolyn) of Paris and Martin Peek (Judy) of Avery; and her pet Max. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
