James Earl Cates Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Earl Cates and Josephine Bonv Cates; his wife Juanita Cates; and his brother Michael Mayfield. He is survived by: his children, Michell, James, Mark Cates (Ginger) and Mike Cates (Lisa); his siblings, Daniel Wallace Mayfield (Diane) and Bettye Peterson (Ronny); and his granddaughter Victoria Cates. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home (4608 Elysian Fields Rd, Marshall, TX 75672).
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his honor to Lake O' The Pines Baptist Church Building Fund.
