Linda Monroe Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mom, Linda Monroe, who passed away on July 14, 2026, at the age of 67.

Born on January 28, 1959, Linda lived a life defined by love, compassion, and selflessness. She loved fiercely and had a servant's heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. Taking care of those around her wasn't just something she did—it was who she was. Whether it was family, friends, neighbors, or someone she had just met, Linda never hesitated to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or words of encouragement. She gave freely of herself and expected nothing in return.

One of the many ways Linda showed her love was through her kitchen. She found great joy in cooking and making desserts for her family and loved ones. Whether it was a favorite homemade dessert for a holiday, birthday, or simply because she wanted to brighten someone's day, every dish she prepared was made with love. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome, cared for, and at home.

Linda's faith in God was the foundation of her life. She found strength, hope, and peace in her relationship with the Lord, and her faith was reflected in the love and kindness she showed to everyone she met. She believed that caring for others was one of life's greatest callings, and she lived that belief every day through her generosity, compassion, and servant's heart. While her family will miss her deeply, they find comfort in knowing she is now in the loving arms of her Savior, reunited with those who have gone before her.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother and an incredibly proud grandmother who treasured every moment with her children and grandchildren. She celebrated their accomplishments, stood beside them through life's challenges, and made sure they always knew they were loved beyond measure.

Linda is lovingly remembered by daughters, Heather Bayes and husband Chris, and their two sons, Matthew and Bryan, of Sachse, Texas, and Alyssa Monroe and her son, Michael, of Baird, Texas; sisters, Sandy Pennington and husband Terry, of Baird, Texas, and Patsy Phillips and husband Lloyd Phillips, of Lubbock, Texas; brother, Waymon Young and wife Cora Young; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Young; brothers, Bobby Young and Wayne Young; and sister, Gail Teeter.

Though our hearts ache in her absence, we take comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, quiet strength, generosity, unwavering faith, and devotion to those she cared about. She taught us that love is best shown through kindness, service, and simply being there for one another. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and giving heart will continue to live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Graveside services will be held in Monday, July 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery (Brownfield Cemetery), 900 N 14th Street Brownfield, Texas 79316.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support shown during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a source of strength and comfort as we celebrate Linda's beautiful life. While she may no longer walk beside us, the love she gave so freely will remain in our hearts forever, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
