Mimi Vasquez Obituary

Mimi Vasquez, 72, a longtime resident of Baird, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026 after an extended illness.

Born in Queens, New York City, Mimi was the daughter of Francine J. and Hartman C. Dutcher. She spent her earliest years living in the Catskills Mpuntains in upstate New York, but Texas became her true home. Aside from short periods in New York and Florida, she lived most of her life in Texas, with 30 of those years in the Baird area. She owned her own home and adopted numerous pets including a Doberman dog, several Persian cats and exotic birds, including a colorful cockatoo. Mimi loved to cook, especially healthy soups, to which she would add her favorite hot sauce, in Texas style, to spice things up.

Mimi was the founder and manager of Accurate Bookkeeping and Tax Services, a business she built and ran with dedication, serving the Baird community and surrounding areas with professionalism and care. About ten years ago, Mimi was involved in a serious car accident as a passenger when the vehicle she was in was struck by an 18-wheeler truck. The collision severely disabled her and set in motion a long and painful recovery. Through it all, she faced her challenges with remarkable courage and determination, a testament to the strength of spirit that defined her. Her life in Baird and in Texas was an important part of who she was, and she will be remembered with affection by those who knew and loved her. Mimi was fond of her animals and found joy in their companionship throughout her life.

Mimi is survived by her siblings: George Bruno of Manchester, New Hampshire; Valentine Berryan of Millington, Maryland; John Bruno of Lindstrom, Minnesota; Richard Dutcher of Rochester, New York; and Victoria Dutcher of Stowe, Vermont.

Mimi will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her, and may she rest in peace.
