We announce the death of Phillip Ray Hellmann (Bastrop, Texas), who passed away on August 17, 2026, at the age of 63. Phillip will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Phillip will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Phillip’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his father Charles J. Hellmann; and his brother Curtis Hellmann. He is survived by: his mother Nora Lohman Hellmann James; his stepfather Rowan James; and his siblings, Steve Hellmann (Bridget) of Bastrop, Wayne Hellmann of Adkins and Nancy Inman (Robb) of Floresville. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, aunts, many cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church (308 Byrne St, Smithville, TX 78957).
