He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Ward and Irma Ward; his daughter Shariesa Harrison (Johnny); his brother Glen Ward (Mary); and his grandson Gene Harrison.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Ward; his son Von Waren Ward (Amy) of Buna; his grandchildren, Lauren Motes (James), Cody Ward (Abby), Lucas Ward (Shelby), Hope Chaoui, Joe Harrison (Samantha), Blair Lackey and Devin Lamaire (Dakota); his brother Dale Ward (Jackie); Joseph Wiggins. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
