He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude T. Richards and Adina Raper Richards; his sister Dodie Pierce Chelf; and his sister-in-law Anita Simmons. He is survived by: his wife Caroline Kay Simmons Richards; his children, Jeff Richards (Kim), Diane Richards Hoffmann (Henry), Gregg Richards (Lorrie) and Susan Richards; his grandchildren, Payton Richards, Trenton Richards and Elizabeth Hoffmann Breaux (Dalton); his brother-in-law Gloyd Simmons; and his nephew Thomas Pierce (Cathy). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial contributions to continue his legacy of service can be made to Woodland Baptist Church, Nutrition & Services for Seniors or Some Other Place, all located in Beaumont TX.
