He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Monroe and Orelia Harmon Monroe. He is survived by: his daughters, Emogene Marks (Robert), Wenda Monroe and Carol Jackson; and his brother Erving Monroe. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
