He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert D. Abel Sr. and Tommie E. Abel; and his brother Alan Abel. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Abel; his children, Sheri Parent (Jim), Lori Abel, John Abel (Lisa) and Brian Abel (Korey); his grandchildren, Katelyn Dillard (Jack), James Parent, Meaghan Abel, Leila Abel, Justin Abel, Ethan Abel, Ashleigh Abel and Melody Abel; and his great grandchildren, Jack D. Dillard V, Asher Dillard and Caden Dillard.
Over the past decade, Dalton has battled his Alzheimer's diagnosis with immense fortitude up until his last breath.
