He was predeceased by: his father Rabbi Herbert Samuel Rutman; and his brother-in-law Peter Owers. He is survived by: his mother Lois Hertzman Rutman of Austin; his wife Bené Rutman; his sons, Jordan Rutman (Meagan Cardenas) of San Antonio and Sam Rutman of Beaumont; his brother Dr. Steve Rutman (Sharon) of Austin; his siblings-in-law, Seth Dugan (Paige) of Riverview, Florida and Ila Owers of Houston; and his pet Wally. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
