He is survived by: his wife Irene Berg of Port Arthur; his children, Rhonda Mahaffey (Brandon) of Beaumont and David Berg, II (Kristina) of Port Arthur; his grandchildren, Craig Tahaney (Chance), Brett Bounds (Meagan), Ashlin Tahaney (Caitlin), David Berg, III (Natasha), Taylor Berg and Anthony Berg; his great grandchildren, Kaydence Bounds and Elise Bounds; his sisters, Ann and Janie; and his friend Rick Welburn.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Melancon Levingston Funeral Home (5601 39th St, Groves, TX 77619). A rosary was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 5:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (211 Hardy Ave, Nederland, TX 77627). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 5:00 PM.
