David Franklin Rader Obituary

David Franklin Rader, 82, of Ivanhoe, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, in East Texas.
He was born in Richmond, Indiana, to Herbert and Bessie Rader and was a brother to Mary Ellen Rader, Herbert Rader, Jr. and Tilford Rader.
Dave is survived by his wife, Cathy Rader, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives.
In his early years, Dave served in the Army in the 101st Airborne where he was a paratrooper.
His vocational history was varied and took him to many different locations. His resume included highlights such as serving as an Internal Revenue Service auditor, an airport manager, and an owner of a popular steak and seafood restaurant.
Dave was a Christian and loved Jesus. His favorite song was Amazing Grace and he liked to call Billy Graham his personal pastor. His hobbies included reading and listening to music. He enjoyed artists such as Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Elvis, the Bethel Ambassadors, the Oak Ridge Boys and Dolly Parton.
Dave was an avid dog lover and is survived by Wilson and Roxanne who miss him greatly. There is also a cat named Kiki who was his favorite napping buddy.
To know Dave was to know that he was a friend to everyone. He was funny and gregarious and will be sorely missed.
Services will take place on Saturday, June 10 at 2p in Ivanhoe, Texas.
