He is survived by: his wife Lou Nell Whitaker; and his children, Steven M. Whitaker (David S. Whitaker, Jr.), Lou Nell Weeks of China and Janet Shimer (Dan) of Portland, Michigan. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Westgate Memorial Baptist Church (6220 Westgate Dr, Beaumont, TX 77706). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
