He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Dabney and Ethel Dabney; and his stepdaughter Yolonda Arline. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Dabney; his stepchildren, Curtis Green, Tracey Samuel and Cynthia Green Francis; and his siblings, Mack Arthur Dabney, Alton Dabney, Michael Dabney, Mae Margaret Semien, Carolyn Evans and Ethel Simmons.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Comeaux-Community Mortuary & Cremations (624 Irma St, Beaumont, TX 77701). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at the Kirby Cemetery.
