He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Bennett and Rosa Bennett; his sons, Troy Bennett and Robert E. Turner III; his sister Verlee Broussard; and his granddaughter Natosha Mouton.
He is survived by: his wife Mercedes Bennett; and his daughters, Renorda Bennett of Beaumont, Texas, Sandra Mouton (Keith) of Angleton, Karen Mingo of Hutto Texas, Paula Turner of Beaumont, Texas, Laura Brown (Trenton) of Hampton, VA and Jasmine Amador of Houston. He is also survived by Thirteen grandchildren, Nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
