He was predeceased by: his parents, Whitney R. Nelson, and Muriel Nelson, Sr.; and his brother Whitney R. Nelson, Jr. (Gwendolyn Nelson McDaniel). He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline "Jackie" Nelson of Beaumont; his children, Ronald A. Nelson of Houston, Reginald C. Nelson of Kirbyville and Linda Brown (Anthony) of Beaumont; his sister Bernadette Nelson of Beaumont; and his children, Herman, Marcus, James, Christina, Porchier and Hermeka. He is also survived by four grandchildren, numerous great & great-great grandchildren, and 2 bonus grandchildren.
