He was predeceased by: his parents, Violet Ebonoch and Jack Payne, Sr.; his father-in-law Lester (Ethel Breaux); his brother Jack Payne, Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana; his half-sister Jeri Newsome of Willis, Texas; his brother Johnnie; and his sister-in-law Rita Savoie of Groves.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his children, Jean Landry (Tim) of Groves and Scott Payne of Shreveport, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Blair Ancelet (Tyler) of Port Neches, Brittyn Landry of Port Neches, Baylor Landry of Groves and Keenan Payne of Monroe, Louisiana; his great grandchildren, Court and Caroline Ancelet of Port Neches; his brother Alvin Payne of New Orleans; and his brother-in-law Darryl Breaux (Esma) of Mico, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
