He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilda Mae Davis Compton and Reverend Julian Marion Compton; his sister Josephine Compton Bailey; and his granddaughter Grace Katherine Manns. He is survived by: his wife Georgia Compton; his children, Schrhonda Compton Babineaux, Alicia Compton Foster (Leroy), Kristen Compton Manns (Ryan) and Joel Maceo Compton; his grandsons, Kristofer Paul Foster, Kendal Joseph Foster (Alexa), Luke Grayson Manns and John Elliott Manns (Jack); his brother Horace Jefferson Compton (Joyce); and his cousins, Mary Compton-Bell, Bertha Marie Dorian and Judy Fenderson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

Viewing was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Mercy Funeral Home Chapel (1395 Gladys St, Beaumont, TX 77701). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Paradise Baptist Church (4390 Fannett Rd, Beaumont, TX 77705). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
