He is survived by: his wife Mary Mendoza of Beaumont; his sons, Leon Mendoza, Jr. (Suzanne) of Granbury and Sean McKinley (Angela Elliott-McKinley) of Beaumont; and his grandchildren, Cheyenna, Sierra, Mollie Mendoza, Angel Jackson, Jacee Elliott, Christopher, Karrie and Emma McKinley. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
