Mae Jester Johnson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mae Jester Johnson of Beaumont, Texas, born in Bunkie, Louisiana, who passed away on July 20, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Sam Glasper; her husband Hilton Johnson, Sr. (That); her son Hilton Johnson, Jr.; her mother Julia Glasper; and her siblings, Leandrew and Willie Mae Williams.

She is survived by: her daughter Tawanna Holmes (Anthony) of Fresno, TX; her granddaughter Peyton Holmes; her siblings, Adell Antoine, Gera Dean Williams, Maggie Lambert and Hushel Glasper (Leanna); her sisters-in-law, Wilda Glasper, Rachel Jones and Toni Johnson; and her goddaughter J'Neika King. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the West Beulah Baptist Church (6525 Bigner Rd, Beaumont, TX 77708). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Magnolia Cemetery (2291 Pine St, Beaumont, TX 77703).
