He was predeceased by: his parents, Georgina Samples-Gilbert and Charles Dean Gilbert; and his siblings, George "Buddy" Gilbert and Jane Gilbert-McAllister. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Gilbert; his children, Steven Gilbert of Dallas and Shelley Gilbert-Harlan of Beaumont; and his grandchildren, Megan Harlan, Jackson Harlan and Matthew Harlan.
Due to Covid restrictions at the time a service was not able to be held, so there will be a service for Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert together.
