He was predeceased by: his parents, Clara Erzana Burger and Weldon Frederick Amerine; his brother Weldon Arden Amerine; his granddaughter Elaena Swanton; and his nephew David Amerine.

He is survived by: his wife Katharine Amerine; his children, Kay Newberry (Brent) of Orange and Ralph Amerine (Sue) of Houston; his grandchildren, Katie Wooten (Steve), April Waguespack (Brian), Megan Newberry, Aaron Amerine (Kathleen) and Logan Amerine; his grandson-in-law Jeremy Swanton; and his great grandchildren, Bayleigh Swanton, Kaimen Swanton, Kyron Swanton, Charlee Swanton, Maddox Swanton, Makenzie Newberry, Andre Guillory, Jr., Aceson Guillory, Addie Waguespack, Tyson Waguespack, Tyler Wooten, Dixie Rose Wooten and Talan Wooten.
