He was predeceased by: his parents, Inez McBride Mathews and Harry Mathews; and his siblings, Harold Mathews and Nanette Williams. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Mathews of Beaumont; his children, Julie George (Gary) of Beaumont and Kyle Mathews (Lori) of Mauriceville; his sister Linda Johnson of Irving; his grandchildren, Tyler Mathews (Betsy) of Houston, Taryn King (Chad) of Beaumont, Brandon Mathews of Lumberton, Christopher George (Avery) of Meridian, Idaho, Korbyn Lee of Lumberton, Kayla Lee of Lumberton and Craig Mathews of Mauriceville; and his great grandchildren, Scarlett and Zoey King of Beaumont. He is also survived by husband to his wife of sixty-five years, a loving father.
