He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond E. Laney and Mary Lois Laney (Stasey); his son-in-law Gerald Cribbs; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Marx and Scotty Aitken.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Laney of Mabank, Texas; his daughters, Jeannia Cribbs of Fort Worth, Texas, Kathy Mucha (Scott) of Keller, Texas, Tiena McFarland (David) of Southlake, Texas, Jimmie Sue Maldonado (Richie) of Mabank, Texas and Paige Chorens (Todd Pressley); his sisters, Claudia Fair, Mary Marx and Margie Laney; his grandchildren, Keith, Collin, Makenna Cribbs, Erik Lammedal, Sophia Bailey, Jacob Mucha, Maeghan McFarland, Madisyn McGuire, Drew, Noah, Landrey McFarland, Tyler, Madeline, Keegan Maldonado and Joshua Lammedal; his great grandchildren, Eli, Evelyn McFarland, Rowan Cribbs, Micah McGuire, Henry Bailey and Baby Bailey; and his siblings-in-law, Randy and Tamy Doshier. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Moorhead Funeral Home (750 E Main St, Gun Barrel City, TX 75156).
