He was predeceased by : his parents, Maximina Baldillez Zavala and Juan Valencia; his siblings, Porfiria Martinez, Sotero Zavala and Ernesto Valencia; and his daughter Gloria Ann Valencia.
He is survived by : his daughters, Mary Lou Lara (Gilberto) of Beeville and Elia Stokes (Brian Kelly) of Southlake, Texas; his sisters, Manuela Cumpian of Beeville, Virginia Garcia of Beeville, Janie Bartlett of Beeville and Juana Garcia (Joe) of Taylor, Texas; his grandsons, Gilberto M. Lara II (Ashley), Jeremy Scott Lara (Lauren), Austin Andre Stokes and Brian Alexander Stokes; and his great grandchildren, Caden Paul Mader, Colton Jerry Lara and Tripp Scott Lara. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
