He is survived by: his close friend Neri Valdez; his siblings, Ramiro Jr. Canas (Elvia), Juan Canas (Rose), Oscar Canas, Fred Canas, Epigmenio Canas (Darcy), Clara Menchaca, Martha Lopez (Tony) and Rachel Garza (Michael); his sons, Gabriel Banda (Bianca), Jacob Banda (Amanda), Oscar Banda (Abigail) and Augustin "Augie" Canas Jr.; and his grandchildren, Jaron, Bubba Banda, Derek, Brayden, Delani, Kodi Banda, Aubri-Rae, Alaurah and Rylnn Banda.
