He was predeceased by: his parents, Paulino Rivas and Eulalia Rivas (Mejia); his siblings, Andres, Adan, Natividad Rivas, Magdalena Garcia, Ofilia Benavidez and Eva Martinez; and his siblings-in-law, Jesse Garza, Paul Benavidez, Victor Rodriguez, Sr., Joe Angel Martinez, Amelia Rivas and Lupita Alcala (Rudy).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Z. Rivas; his children, Ruby Rivas (Alverico Saenz), David Ray Rivas, Marisa Villarreal (Anthony) and Manuel Rivas (Ashley Wolverton); his grandchildren, Crystal Rivas, Leticia Garza, Cynthia Garza, Gabrielle Villarreal, Noah Garza, David Lee Rivas, Rodney Villarreal, Carmen Rivas and Raul A. Villarreal, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Aleena Martinez, Audrina Martinez, Ariana Martinez, Alexiah Ortiz, Addy Garza, Alyse Garza and Jaslean Rivas; and his siblings, Maria Rodriguez, Ezequiel Rivas (Ruth) and Olga Garza.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oak Park Memorial. A prayer was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Bethel Pentecostal Church (609 S Minneapolis St, Beeville, TX 78102). A burial was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Glenwood Cemetery.
