It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jan Tracy Berdan (Beeville, Texas), born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, who passed away on March 18, 2024, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Tracy Berdan and Ella W. Berdan; his sister Catherine Berdan; his mother-in-law Maria Dora Gonzales; and his grandson Christopher Briseno.

He is survived by : his wife Maria L. "Longie" Berdan; his children, Melissa Briseno and Jan T. Berdan Jr.; his daughter-in-law Tamara D. Berdan; his son Jacob A. Berdan; his grandchildren, John Thomas Amador Jr., Kobe Gabriel Amador, Arisa Dora Rodriguez, Aarin Ryan Rodriguez, Alysa Love Rodriguez, Alaza Rain Rodriguez, Jaden Noah Briseño, Nevaeh and Jan; his great great grandchild Angelisa Jõ Gomez; his sisters, Margo Berdan, Edith Szczepanski (Bruce), JoAnn Ecker (Bob), Linda Findaklee (Udo) and Susan Newby; his in-laws, Oliver and Anita Esparaza; and his nieces, Hope, Terry and Livy.

His devotion to service was evident throughout his lifetime, notably through his active service in the U.S. Navy Seabee, his participation in the honor guard at veteran funerals, his life membership of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #0929, and his contributions to the American Legion Post #0276.
