She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Johnson and Virtie Mae Johnson (Brewer); and her daughter Mae Irene Johnson. She is survived by: her husband Ray Darnell Barefield Sr.; her children, Clayton Johnson, Tanya Barefield and Ray Barefield Jr. (Jane); her stepdaughter Pamela Mason; her grandchildren, Tashina, Dessiree, Danielle, Trevion, Malachi and Gemineye; her great grandchildren, Synarea, Jeremiah, Aiden and Layla; her sister-in-law Esther Barefield; and her close friend Day Malone Lohse.
