“A brighter and more interesting human being doesn’t exist. He was a kind man who was both encouraging and supportive. I learned more in our two hour meetings than any university could ever provide. He was a dear friend, mentor and scholar. I looked forward to every exchange and discussion we had in our 35 plus years. I referred to him as my godfather when speaking to friends. I know that I will never see the likes of him again.”
