He was predeceased by: his mother Estelle Owens; his former wife Carol Kelt Nelson; his stepfather Mosley Owens; and his father Alonzo Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Nelson; his children, Nancy (Anthony) and Owen (Debby); and his grandchildren, Daniel (Rebecca), Elizabeth (Spencer), Matthew (Becca), Anthony (Jade) and Jennette (Cameron). He is also survived by great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations toward the planned Bobby H. Nelson Endowed Scholarship Fund at Texas A&M University.
