He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Long and Ethel Long (Asling); his significant other Phyllis Maxine Ogden; and his sister Marjorie. He is survived by: his children, Phillip Long of Lakewood and Beth Smart of Los Gatos, California.; his sister Patricia Ann Miller (James); his grandchildren, Seth (Brittany), Emily, Kelly (Sean) and Scott; his great grandchild Charlotte; and his nieces and nephews, Shelly Miller, Demri Rynders, Andrew (April) and Joey.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery (11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542).
