She was predeceased by: her parents, Maria Castaneda and Guadalupe Garza. She is survived by: her husband Gabriel Melo of Belton; her children, Juan M. Ortiz Jr. of Jarrell, Guadalupe Ortiz of Belton, Issac Ortiz of Jarrell, Maria C. Ortiz-Lee of Belton, Amy Ortiz of Belton, Laura Valle of Jarrell, Christy Lopez of Austin and Lisa M. Cochran of Jarrell; and her sisters, Elida Castro of Belton and Helen Ferguson of Troy. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
