He is survived by: his wife Concepcion "Connie" Gutierrez (Gutierrez) of Beeville; his children, Debbie Martinez of Houston, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Gonzales (Joe) of Berclair, Martha Jo Elizalde (Ruben) of Olmos, Charlotte Chambless of Beeville, Rynda Ramirez of Maryland and John Phillip Ramirez (Cherrie) of Austin; and his sister Felipita Villanueva of Houston.
