He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoyle Nix and Maude Nix (Davidson); his wife Bobbie Nix; his uncle Ben Nix; and his sisters, Hoylene Nix and Beverly Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Tommy Scott (Laura), James Nix (Mary) and Brenda Herrin (Scot); his siblings, Jody Nix (Fender) and Robin Walker; his grandchildren, Layne Scott (Kade), Taylor Scott, Jennifer Oxford (Byron), Joe Harris, Jr. (Kara), Zach Herrin (Liz), Zane Herrin (Sarah), Haley Gorski (Randy), Josh Ferneu (Sarah), Julie Nix, Ethan Blevins, Anna Cornell and Amanda Moore; and his great grandchildren, Kinlea Scott, Kelsey Scott, Ella Harris, Blane Oxford, Trey Gorski, Amelia Hardaway (Boone), Jonah Fernau, Dez Fernau, James Fuller, Lilith Moore and Sam Moore. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home - BIG Spring (906 S Gregg St, Big Spring, TX 79720). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel (906 S Gregg St, Big Spring, TX 79720). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at the Trinity Memorial Park (6900 US-87, Big Spring, TX 79720).
