He is survived by: his wife Susanna Candelaria Vela; his children, Ronaldo Vela (Teri), Alma LeMaire (Gadell) and Orasio Vela Jr. (Marny); his brothers, Roel Elio Vela (Mary Alice) and Oscar Vela (Velma); his grandchildren, Benjamin Vela, Hailey Garcia, Kyle Henze, Rien Solis, Rydr Solis, Reid Solis (Makenna), Roen Solis, Gabrielle Vela West and Andrea Vela; his great grandchildren, Karsyn Compton, Trey Compton, Wesley Martinez, Sofia Vela, Evelyn, Dallas, Wren, Eva and Violet; Ruben Solis (Liana).

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary (205 General Cavazos Blvd, Kingsville, TX 78363). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (603 W 3rd St, Bishop, TX 78343). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM.
