She was predeceased by: her parents, James Flake Clay and Adelaide Walton Clay; her husband John King Jr. "Chappy"; her daughter Crystal Jean King; her siblings, Juanita Cunningham, Ruby Clay, Myrtle Thompson, Charlesetta Gordon, Moses Clay, James Clay Jr., Eugene Clay, Manuel Clay, Vance Clay and Randle Clay; her grandson Darryl DeShay King; and her daughter-in-law Sybil E. King.
She is survived by: her sons, Johnny King III, Stanley Scott King of Bloomington, Robert King, Darryl Emerson King, Clay King of Victoria, Texas. and Hector Laboy; and her siblings, Christella Bryant, Georgia Witsell of Jacksonville, Florida and Curtis Clay of Victoria, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Morning Star Baptist Church (12735 TX-185, Bloomington, TX 77951). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Morning Star Baptist Church (12689 TX-185, Victoria, TX 77951).
